Eardley Wilmot is a purposely small recruitment and consultancy company with networks and expertise built up over 15 years working in fundraising and marketing in the not for profit sector and a further 15 years’ recruitment in fundraising. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to hear more about the method and strategy, and have a look at testimonials.
Eardley Wilmot always takes a bespoke approach, whether a multiple position Campaign or a difficult to fill role. The objective is long term results for the team – at all levels. There is much case study information to share with you about previous campaigns, their searches and methodologies, and EW is always very inspired to find out about and put together the right campaign for your organisation.
Working in partnership with organisations to identify needs, Eardley Wilmot has a carefully identified network of consultants who have become experts in their field, offering both strategic and hands on input at the right time, to form a campaign, start a new fundraising stream or develop significant growth.
Eardley Wilmot works in partnership with organisations at Director, Head and functional head level to identify a highly qualified individual to fit easily in to the team. This is often for a period of anywhere between a number of days over a few months to a regular weekly arrangement for up to a year. Typically, it has covered the period whilst organisations are recruiting a new permanent member of staff, when the fundraising strategy needs to take a new direction, when there is a particular knotty problem to solve, or a team member has leave due to a new baby or other special circumstances.
There are two principal ways in which EW works with organisations: to identify a highly experienced manager to act as a bridge, or to capitalise on the opportunity to bring in specialist skills and fresh thinking to complement existing work. Interims are often well known to EW and very carefully matched to the organisational need.
Whether examining the feasibility of funding for a new area of trusts work, putting on a new one-off event, helping with an extraordinary workload to complete large bids and funding pitches, or an ongoing flexible arrangement as an alternative to engagement of a permanent member of staff, Eardley Wilmot can help you explore the skill base needed and discuss options from known freelancers with significant track record within a range of different cause and institution types, to ensure successful outcomes.
Lise Melvin, CEO, Better Cotton Initiative
Charlotte is flexible and supportive, taking the time to truly understand your recruitment needs, and finding both the perfect and creative solutions for you. She’s a pleasure to work with.
Steve Sloan, CEO Galvmed
I had the pleasure of being “grilled” by Charlotte when head hunted for a very senior position in my current organisation. Her approach was crucial because this was an unusual position requiring a mix of skills that would not be run of the mill..
The approach she took was engaging while detailed and painstaking she left no stone unturned, and she does so with personality, analysis and detail, a winning combination. When promoted to the position of Chief Executive I needed to appoint to my old position and it was natural to go back to Charlotte. She got it right again and we have a great appointee doing great work but the fact is that we could have appointed the majority of the interviewees she put before us.
A amusing aside, one of the interviewees who did not get the job said that being courteously rejected by Charlotte was in some ways a more rewarding experience than getting offered a post by others! She can be relied upon to do the whole job, not just the nice parts. I thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend Charlotte.
Assaf Admoni, CEO, British Friends of Midgal Ohr
I have pleasure recommending Eardley Wilmot for the professional job they did in helping me recruit staff. I have used their services over many years to recruit for different positions such as Head of Coporate Partnerships, Head of Community Fundraising, Major Donor Manager and other positions. In all cases they have provided an outstanding service, introduced high quality candidates and offered good advice.
Mark Bishop, Director of Customer & Cause, National Trust for Scotland
Charlotte has helped me recruit the best part of 20 excellent fundraisers and I have been really pleased with the way she only brings me candidates that she believes are absolutely right for the role and organisation. The attention she pays to understanding the career ambitions is just as thorough. Combined, this leads to introductions that have, in almost all cases, been fantastic fits from both sides.
Susan Dark, Head of Advisory, Generation Three Family Partners
I recommend Charlotte to clients and candidates looking to work with an innovative and resourceful recruiter within the charitable space. Charlotte is a fair and transparent broker and was immensely helpful in representing me.
Matt Patten, Head of Major Supporters, Diabetes UK:
Charlotte understood exactly what I required and delivered an excellent candidate from what was proving to be an otherwise empty market for high quality individuals.
Rebecca Elcome, Events Producer at Coveted Events
From our first meeting, I was acutely aware that Charlotte was equally concerned with finding the right candidate for the role and finding the right role for me as the candidate. Her approach was personal and unlike many other recruiters, I was reassured by the fact that Charlotte herself had significant experience of working within the charity sector.I would feel confident in working with Eardley Wilmot again both as a job seeker and as a recruiter.
James Beeby, Deputy Director Fundraising, Prostate Cancer UK
Charlotte has acted as a recruiter for me on two separate occasions, both times securing roles for me which have helped to advance my career. She has high levels of integrity, only taking on candidates who she feels are right for the roles she has access to, and is honest and straightforward at all times. She has given me a very supported experience throughout each recruitment process, preparing me with detailed information and insights. I have no hesitation in recommending Charlotte, she provides a great level of service and is personable, straightforward and fun to work with at all times; different to so many recruitment consultants! She is a very useful contact to have.
Hugh Rayment-Pickard, Chief Strategy Officer, Into University
Charlotte did an excellent job for us, finding a major donor manager to join our team. Charlotte quickly understood our needs and we were meeting candidates within a few days. Charlotte was available throughout to provide expert guidance. I can strongly recommend her.
Alex Ford, CEO, Pancreatic Cancer UK
Charlotte has an instinctive understanding of the right fit for an organisation in terms of both fundraising requirements but also culture. I would highly recommend her.
Stephen Wilson, ACMA, MBA, Senior Philanthropy Manager, NSPCC
Having Charlotte’s assistance recently on securing a position was invaluable. A friendly, professional and honest approach was received and I found it a pleasure to work with Charlotte. The position I secured is absolutely perfect and I will forever be indebted to Charlotte for opening the door, providing excellent tips for the interview and ultimately securing me a position I am delighted with.
Ian Rutter, Age UK Enterprises
Charlotte has restored my faith in recruitment consultancy. Too often, recruitment agents are seen as unscrupulous, target-driven sales people who have no real care for the people they handle. Not so in Charlotte’s case. As a result of her understanding, client knowledge, levels of communication and commitment, Charlotte saw me through the process that has resulted in my securing a wonderful role with one of the UK’s foremost not-for-profit organisations. A consummate professional, Charlotte is calm and empathetic, and is a true “consultant” – someone who is able to offer expert advice.
