All services are fundraising led with experience and expertise built up over 35 years working in fundraising and marketing in the not for profit sector; and recruitment and executive search in fundraising in large and small organisations, foundations and private/public partnerships.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to hear more about the method and strategy, and have a look at testimonials.

Permanent

EW works in collaboration with client organisations at an early stage to explore new plans and identify options for resourcing and budgeting for fundraising investment in projects, so even if you’re not quite ready, now is in fact the best time to chat.

Eardley Wilmot always takes a bespoke approach – no two organisations are the same – the common objective is long term results for your organisation.

There is much case study information to share with you about previous campaigns, their searches and methodologies, and EW is always very inspired to find out about and put together the right campaign for your unique organisation.

Consultant

We have a carefully identified network of fundraising consultants who have become experts in their field through track record, offering both strategic and hands on input at the right time, to help form a campaign, start a new fundraising stream or help develop your charities funding opportunities.

Interim

EW works in partnership with organisations at CEO, Board, Director and Head level to identify a highly qualified individual to fit easily in to the team. This is often for a period of anywhere between a number of days over a few months to a longer arrangement.

There are two principal ways in which EW works with organisations: to identify a highly experienced interim to act as a bridge, or to capitalise on the opportunity to bring in specialist skills and fresh thinking to complement existing work.

Often, it covers the period whilst organisations are recruiting a new permanent member of staff, when the fundraising strategy needs to take a new direction, when there is a particular knotty problem to solve, or a team member has leave due to a new baby or other special circumstances.

Freelance

Freelance fundraisers can be a helpful way to benefit from fundraising support without the responsibilities of taking on a full time employee.

Whether examining the feasibility of trust funding for a new area of trusts work, helping to complete large bids pitches or reports, putting on a new one-off event,  we can match the skill base needed and discuss options from known freelancers with significant track record within a range of different cause and institution types, to ensure successful outcomes.

Testimonials

Edward Hodgkins, Interim Director of Philanthropy at the Mercers Company

Charlotte and I have worked together on a number of occasions over the years. She knows that as an interim I am always looking for my next assignment and she is brilliant at passing opportunities my way as and when they appear. She is very good at matching candidates to assignments and is always on hand during any recruitment process. She builds up strong relationships with her clients so that when it comes to discussing an appointment she is not only familiar with the client but also all the major players and dynamics within the organisation. She is extremely diligent and even when there is not much happening she will call and just check in. Whether recruiting or looking for a role I can strongly recommend Charlotte.

Andy King, Corporate-Charity Partnerships Specialist

Charlotte is, without a doubt, the best recruitment consultant I've ever encountered. From arranging a first round interview within 48 hours of a CV submission to mentoring and support for the second round interview, her client-led approach and personal care is second to none. With her support, I am now in a role I wouldn't have thought possible, and am loving every second. I couldn't recommend her services more.

Rob Trimble MBE, Chief Executive, Bromley by Bow Centre

Charlotte undertook the recruitment process for our Director of Fundraising role at the Bromley by Bow Centre. Everything about the process was first class. From the outset, Charlotte took immense interest in understanding both the role and the wider context of the charity and our organisational strategy. The level of research she undertook and the time she devoted to really getting to grips with the brief was of an order I’ve not experienced with any other recruitment. That set the tone for a thoroughly professional process that culminated in an exceptionally high calibre shortlist and a very successful appointment. At every stage, Charlotte was attentive to the detail, highly responsive and hugely supportive. I cannot think of any way in which it could have been improved.

Alison Benjamin, Director of Fundraising, OnSide Youth Zones (Director of Major Gifts, King's College London)

Charlotte has helped me fill a number of Major Gift and Trust roles at King's College London over the past 2 years. She has taken the time to get to know King's, our team, and the work that we are seeking to achieve through philanthropic support. All of this has helped to inspire people with a range of experiences (from HE, arts & heritage organisations, as well as the traditional charity sector) to join the team.

Steve Sloan, CEO Galvmed

I had the pleasure of being "grilled" by Charlotte when head hunted for a very senior position in my current organisation. Her approach was crucial because this was an unusual position requiring a mix of skills that would not be run of the mill..

The approach she took was engaging while detailed and painstaking she left no stone unturned, and she does so with personality, analysis and detail, a winning combination.
When promoted to the position of Chief Executive I needed to appoint to my old position and it was natural to go back to Charlotte. She got it right again and we have a great appointee doing great work but the fact is that we could have appointed the majority of the interviewees she put before us.

A amusing aside, one of the interviewees who did not get the job said that being courteously rejected by Charlotte was in some ways a more rewarding experience than getting offered a post by others! She can be relied upon to do the whole job, not just the nice parts.

I thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend Charlotte.

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising, Terrence Higgins Trust (Deputy Director Fundraising, Prostate Cancer UK)

Charlotte has acted as a recruiter for me on two separate occasions, both times securing roles for me which have helped to advance my career. She has high levels of integrity, only taking on candidates who she feels are right for the roles she has access to, and is honest and straightforward at all times. She has given me a very supported experience throughout each recruitment process, preparing me with detailed information and insights. I have no hesitation in recommending Charlotte, she provides a great level of service and is personable, straightforward and fun to work with at all times; different to so many recruitment consultants! She is a very useful contact to have.
